Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and unidating ("unidating", "we", "us") and govern your use of the unidating iOS app and this website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use unidating

You must be at least 18 years old, able to form a binding contract, and not barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you. unidating is for college students: to meet people and send messages you must confirm an email address at a school on our university list, and that address must be yours. unidating is for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Your account

You may have one account. Give accurate information, keep your login private, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account. Do not impersonate anyone, use someone else's school email, or create an account for someone else. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Groups and friends

You can form a group of two with a friend and meet other groups. Each person keeps control of their own profile, photos and safety choices. Either member can leave a group at any time; leaving ends the group and its group chats.

4. Community rules

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully, deceive or harm anyone;
  • post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that violates someone else's rights or privacy;
  • post photos of anyone who has not agreed to appear, or photos that are not of you as your profile photos;
  • ask for money, sell anything, advertise, or recruit for another service;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service;
  • try to break, overload or reverse engineer the Service.

Report anyone who breaks these rules from their profile or chat menu.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, profile text and messages you create. You give unidating a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display and transmit that content only as needed to run the Service, such as showing your profile to other members and delivering your messages. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content we must keep for safety or legal reasons as described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the right to share what you post.

6. Price

unidating is free. If we ever offer paid features, the price and terms will be shown in the app before you buy, and purchases will be handled by Apple.

7. Safety

We confirm school emails and offer an optional ID check, but we do not run criminal background checks and we cannot guarantee anyone's identity, conduct or intentions. Use good judgement, meet in public, and read our safety tips. You are responsible for your interactions with other members.

8. Suspension and termination

You can stop using unidating and delete your account at any time from Profile, then Settings, then Delete account. We may suspend or end your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the Service and its members. Serious safety violations can lead to an immediate, permanent ban.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will lead to a match, a date or a relationship.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, unidating will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your interactions with other members. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

11. Apple

These Terms are between you and unidating, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will update the date above and tell you in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.
